“FPIES Healing, Trauma, and the Power of Abba: A Journey to Overcoming Fear and Finding Freedom"

Holla! Many of you hear me talk about Abba! Abba is just another name for God, but it means daddy God. I was radically introduced to him as my daddy when I sat on my bed one day and cried out a simple prayer, instead of taking my own life. You can read more about that story here…

But this story is one of my most favorite in my journey with Abba. Let me give you some background. This story took place about 2 years ago, amidst the chaos of living with FPIES and the aftermath of trauma and sexual abuse. As a sexual abuse victim, I carried deep fear and trauma from losing my grandma as a seven-year-old. The fear of death consumed me, and my husband, who also had a fear of losing loved ones due to his father's tragic accident when he was just 5 weeks old. Our two children faced their own challenges with allergies, including FPIES—a condition where our red-headed son experienced severe reactions and vomiting when proteins entered his bloodstream. Life was chaotic, hard, and devoid of ease for us... until something remarkable happened.

I started going to a women's group that quickly became my tribe! If you don't have a tribe, find yourself one! One night, each of us received a word on a piece of burlap—a word that counteracted the ugly words the world had spoken over us. I received the word "ALIVE," and my husband received the word "Free."

Initially, I didn't fully grasp the significance of my word, but I began to seek God's revelation. Through conversations with my mentor, it became clear that I had a deep fear of losing loved ones. The spirit of death had stolen my life, and God spoke the word "Alive" over me to confront this fear head-on.

Embracing this adventure, I found myself in my battle ground—the bathtub. Surrounded by flickering candles and the song "No Fear In Love" playing on repeat, I engaged in freedom prayer, revisiting memories associated with my grandma's death and subsequent losses. In each memory, I invited Jesus to enter and bring healing. And that night, right before I got out of the bathtub, I heard Jesus say, "It is finished. Your boys are healed."

Eager to know which food to introduce first, I asked for a plan. But God's response was clear: "There is no plan. Overplanning is control, which is fear in action. Just follow the sound of my voice."

So I did. His voice whispered an unexpected instruction—to let them eat at the church potluck! I questioned, "Are you sure, Jesus?" But his assurance remained. With a prayer, I sent them on their way. And from that day forward, you guys, they have been healed! Not only physically but also generationally, as my husband's and my souls found healing from the spirit of death. And this healing isn't just available for me; it's available for you as well!

Abba REDEEMED me from the spirit of death rooted in the trauma of my grandma's passing. This fear of death haunted me, and I carried the weight of my children's lives on my shoulders. But through the healing of my soul—guided by my incredible mentor—I opened my eyes to the spirit of death. I brought every negative seed that death had planted to Abba in prayer, and in each dark memory, he illuminated his light. Abba whispered that he and I will never part. "Because God's children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying" (Hebrews 2:14-15).
